On 10th September 2010, Simon Mackenzie Smith and Rupert Marks climbed into their 1928 Ford Model A and started to cover the 14,000 kms from Peking to Paris, retracing the steps of the motor car pioneers who raced each over the same route in 1907. The 2010 Peking to Paris Rally is expected to take 5 weeks and will involve driving through the wilds of Mongolia as well as the ‘stans’ and Iran.

We are using the trip to raise as much money as possible for charity. Simon is raising money for Debra, the children’s skin disease charity, and Rupert for the Pioneer Sailing Trust, the Essex based sail training ship for young people which he set up in 1999.

If you think the trip is sufficiently challenging and our causes worthwhile, please support us by either using the JustGiving website or contacting us directly. All of the proceeds will go directly to the charities. We are funding the costs of the trip ourselves.
